MARKETING AND DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

The festival is searching for a full-time Marketing and Development Manager to assist the Managing Director of the Burlington Discover Jazz Festival in marketing, development, logistical and administrative aspects of the Festival.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

DEVELOPMENT

Assist the Managing Director with renewal and solicitation of sponsors
Assist the Managing Director with Sponsor fulfillment
Manage Festival banners and signage
Grant writing and general fundraising (including promotions, special projects and benefit events)
Manage the Festival membership program and individual donations

MARKETING
Assist in the development of the overall Festival marketing plan and marketing budget along with Managing Director and the Flynn Marketing Director
Coordinate and assist in the development of the Festival’s marketing campaign design with Flynn Marketing Director, Festival Designer and the Managing Director
Manage brochure design, deadlines, printing and distribution
Manage program guide design, deadlines, layout, printing and distribution
Manage the creation and submission of all festival print, radio, television, and digital ads
Create, compile, and edit content for all marketing collateral
Manage grass roots and social media marketing efforts
Create content for and manage development and production of the website and mobile app

LOGISTICS AND ADMINISTRATION
Execute the Festival public relations needs, including stage announcements
Assist the Managing Director with other logistical needs of the Festival
Other related tasks, as required

QUALIFICATIONS:

Degree in marketing plus 3-5 years of experience advertising, fundraising, and event planning, or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired
Strong customer service skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Ability to work independently and make sound decisions
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Flexible schedule with ability to work long hours during crucial times
Ability to juggle multiple tasks and work well under pressure
Passionate about jazz
Comfortable with new and evolving technologies; familiarity with Microsoft office applications, database and calendar systems, as well as social media and content management systems
Ability to represent the Flynn/BDJF and deal effectively with a wide range of individuals and organizations inside and outside of the Flynn, requiring good public relations, marketing, public speaking, coordinating/liaison, and negotiating skills
Ability to perform light physical labor, ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
Valid driver’s license and use of reliable vehicle
