Warm Water is a musical duo based in Burlington, Vermont, consisting of Hannah Hausman on vocals and Jack Hanson on keyboard. They formed in late 2016 and have been performing regularly since then at bars, clubs, restaurants, and house parties in the greater Burlington area.
Hanson and Hausman perform almost all original music, although they occasionally pepper in standards from the American jazz and soul traditions. Their original music draws on those genres, along with rock, folk, and blues. They often invoke seasonal and environmental themes, with songs such as “Sleepy Winter Blues,” “It’s Fall”, and “Hungry Honey Bee.”
Their sound is melancholy, soulful, and dynamic. Hausman’s lyrics are poetic and passionate. They are usually soft and sweet, but at times border on raunchy and sassy. Hanson’s playing is deeply rooted in jazz, but he occasionally let’s his rock and roll side show through.
Their original music, youthful earnestness, and strong musical bond make Hanson and Hausman a joy to watch. The music is relaxing and thought-provoking, calming and serene. See them live and you, too, will find yourself submerged in Warm Water.
