Marty Fogel (saxophones, clarinet, flute) has played and toured internationally with major jazz artists, trumpeter Don Cherry and baritone saxophonist Gerry Mulligan. He also spent several years performing and recording in the band of the legendary rock artist Lou Reed.  Marty was a co-founder of The Everyman Band, an innovative and internationally acclaimed group which toured in Europe and recorded for ECM Records.

Over the years Marty has been fortunate to perform in a wide variety of musical styles with artists such as Ed Blackwell, David Bowie, Trilok Gurtu,  John Lee Hooker, David Torn, Nana Vasconcelos, Colin Walcott, The Four Tops, The Spinners and The Temptations.

Marty also currently performs with his own group, Thread of Blue and  in  a variety of other musical formats as leader or sideman.  Marty has also been a recipient of a performance grant from the National Endowment for the Arts which funded several concerts of his original music.

This year at the Festival, Marty will be accompanied by Robinson Morse on bass, James Harvey on piano and Geza Carr on Drums.
