“Powerful and righteous, Ball is a killer pianist, a great singer and songwriter.”

—Billboard Magazine

“Delafose is a Keith Richards kind of player, leading the rhythm section while reeling off killer licks.”

—Orlando Sentinel

Long, tall Marcia Ball is the undisputed queen of boogie piano. “Her voice can break your heart with a ballad or break your back with a rocker” (Boston Sunday Herald). Over the course of her three-decade career, Ball’s exquisite piano playing and passionate, playful vocals fusing Texas blues, Louisiana R&B and Gulf Coast swamp pop have earned her two Blues Music Awards, a Grammy® nomination and an intensely loyal following all over the world. With the April 2008 release of her new album, Peace, Love & BBQ (Alligator), Ball once again proves that her rompin’, stompin’ sound—full of heartfelt passion—moves souls and feet together.

One of the creators of the sound known as nouveau zydeco, accordionist and singer Geno Delafose’s sound is both unique yet traditional—he finds inspiration in traditional Cajun and Creole melodies, but has crafted his own rich gumbo of zydeco, R&B, country and blues. Named Best Zydeco Artist at the Big Easy Awards in New Orleans, Delafose received a Grammy® nomination for his 2007 release Le Cowboy Creole. His band, French Rockin’ Boogie—widely hailed as one of Louisiana’s best traditional zydeco bands—turns on a dime with each spicy lick emitted from Delafose’s squeezebox.
