Alto Saxophonist Tim Berne is one of the leading creative forces in improvised music of the last 20 years – and hardcell is one of his most exciting bands. Berne's music captivates as it zigzags through wild improvisation in the service of advancing complex composition. His two bandmates are thrilling not-to-be missed players on piano/keyboards and drums—the brilliant Craig Taborn and Tom Rainey. Together the trio's interactions create myriad implied harmonies and odd meters that ultimately result in a music that grooves.
